The Guild believes that all individuals and families deserve mental health services that affirm sexual and gender diversity. To this end, we provide innovative and affirmative training to mental health professionals and trainees grounded in values of cultural humility, social advocacy, collaboration, and inclusivity. We believe this work honors and celebrates the lived experiences of sexual and gender diverse individuals, families, and communities while promoting justice and dignity.
Our Leaderships team develops ideas for training based on community need and professional resources. We organize, plan, schedule and run 18 CE hours a year, including a bi-annual ethics program where you can earn the 6 hours of required ethics CEs for the two-year licensing cycle.
The Guild has traditionally been present at the Utah Pride parade & festival, and participates in other community based social justice actions.
Members of the Guild provide training and resources to interested community partners in an effort to raise awareness and skills in the broader Utah region.
Running the Guild takes time and attention. Everything from the finances, to the planning and execution of trainings, organizing networking opportunities, and managing our online presence is accomplished by dedicated volunteers.
Are you interested in volunteering with the Guild? We have a variety of opportunities for involvement. Volunteer for just one event or get involved on a regular basis - we can find a job that fits your schedule and interests. Email our Organizational Coordinator, and we'll be in touch soon.
